Hotel Wailea Wedding: Part III of Wookie & Gillian

I had the pleasure of photographing Wookie’s proposal to Gillian up at Haleakala, so it was an absolute honor to meet them again to document their whale watch welcome party and wedding at Hotel Wailea.

Wookie and Gillian had their wedding rescheduled 3 times and were exhausted from wedding planning. But the day – when it finally arrived – was amazing! Every detail was exquisite. Teresa Sena was the florist, so I already knew the flowers were going to be perfection before I saw them and I was not wrong.

When we talked before the wedding, it was not just about capturing the physical details but focusing on the experience as a whole and seeing their families together. One of my favorite moments from their wedding is from after the ceremony of their two mamas linking arms and walking away together. (Make sure you scroll down to see it!)

We did a first look at the Treehouse at Hotel Wailea. Gillian has a classic, effortless beauty and it was lovely to see how taken Wookie was seeing her as a bride.

The light at Hotel Wailea was so beautiful that day. I loved all the foliage around, breaking up the light and making it diffused and golden.

We went down to the beach for quick portraits. It was great to give them a little change of scenery and a small snippet of time together as a newlyweds to soak it all in.

Wookie and Gillian surprised their guests with a fire dance at the end. Such an epic way to cap off the night!
